PEJATEN BYTES

Dear Parents and Friends,

Another busy week of online learning has flown by.  In Primary School, the students have celebrated Book Week, while in High School, we have been busy preparing for final assessments, including exams, in Week 6.  Year 12 students have also been busy finishing their course work and working hard on University applications – an exciting time for them, although also somewhat nerve wracking.  We have also been preparing for Year 12 Graduation!  Further information about these happenings can be found below.

We have also continued our efforts toward getting students back into classrooms!  Official government information is constantly changing in response to the changing COVID-19 circumstances, so this is a seemingly never-ending job.  As part of those efforts, a delegation from the COVID 19 Taskforce, including South Jakarta Deputy Mayor Drs. Isnawa Adji, were invited to our High School campus on Thursday to review our COVID-Safe procedures.  (These apply across both campuses).  The team were impressed with our COVID-Safe protocols for screening those entering campus, provisions for handwashing and hand sanitising, and physical distancing arrangements and signposting. See https://youtu.be/wpYMPUgp-4s for highlights of the visit. We will receive notification in the next few days indicating that we are ready to open for face-to-face teaching once we are given permission to do so by the Ministry of Education (we believe a formal update with some positive news will announced in the next couple of days).

Regardless of when we are able to return to face-to-face teaching, we have been given permission to return for small study groups on campus.  Consequently, we will be providing an update early next week regarding logistics for doing so, including an opportunity (we hope – still negotiating with the hospital) for on-campus rapid testing of students and staff before commencing study groups.

Wishing you a restful weekend ahead.

Stay safe and keep well.

Ms. Jodi and Mr. Henri
